Well Hello baseball fans, welcome into the 158th edition of minor league baseball’s hottest and #1 blog…Diggin’ In to the Legends!
As the title of this fantastic blog reads, it’s Groundhog Day here in America and the world’s most famous groundhog (Punxsutawney Phil) saw his shadow Monday morning, predicting that this already long winter will last for six more weeks.
The annual ritual takes place on Gobbler’s Knob, a tiny hill in Punxsutawney, a borough of about 6,100 residents some 65 miles northeast of.
According to German superstition, if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on Feb. 2 — the Christian holiday of Candlemas — winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow is seen, legend says, spring will come early.
Well fortunately, spring time in Lexington means baseball season is here and in play. As we always do, the countdown is definitely on as we inch a little closer and closer to Opening Day 2009.
70 days is how close we exactly are and you can bet, everyone here in the Legends front office is pumped and jacked for Monday, April 13, 2009!
Our 2009 season slogan is Fun and Games…Just Add You. So, with that our wheels are starting to spin and our marketing/promotional plan for the season is beginning to roll so make sure you keep checking out this blog to find out where YOU can see the Lexington Legends out here NEXT.
